Village Nature Series

The Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust and The Village Green co-host a series of lectures each summer. Visitors and residents learn about wildlife, habitats, conservation, and local cultural heritage from expert speakers in their fields! The Village Nature Series will begin at 5:30pm on the last Tuesday of each month (August’s presentation will be held on the 20th) from April through September at The Village Green in Cashiers.

August Presentation Description: Join Brent Marin, author and Executive Director of Bartram Trail Conservancy, as he presents on the life and work of Japanese immigrant and photographer, George Masa, whose photography of WNC in the early 20th century was unparalleled. Martin is the author of George Masa’s Wild Vision: A Japanese Immigrant Imagines WNC, which won the Thomas Wolfe Memorial Literary Award in 2022.
